Key facts

One adult bike, front wheel off and wrapped, is about 3 to 4 box-equivalents. Three bikes and the family's helmets and pumps fill a Small plan at 1,158,000 VND a month.
Standard climate is fine for aluminium and steel frames; carbon frames and leather saddles prefer air-conditioned at 1,452,000 VND.
Collection 1,093,000 VND one way, wrapping included. Delivery of the bike alone from the next day at the per-item rate.
Motorbikes and e-bikes with the battery fitted are refused. Fuel and loose lithium batteries do not enter the facility.

Preparing a bike for storage

Wash and dry it. Road grime holds moisture against the frame; dried sweat corrodes the bars and stem.
Oil the chain and wipe off the excess. A dry chain rusts in a month here.
Let the tyres down to about half pressure so they do not deform on the shelf, or ask the crew to store it hanging if the facility section allows.
Remove the computer, lights and the e-bike battery. Batteries stay with you.
Note the serial number from under the bottom bracket in the account item note; the crew photographs it too.

Why the climate question is about the saddle

Metal frames do not care about humidity for a year if they are clean and oiled. Leather saddles, cork bar tape and carbon lacquer do: they mould, soften and cloud at the 75 to 80 percent humidity the city runs at. If the bike is worth more than the difference between 1,452,000 VND and 1,158,000 VND a month, choose air-conditioned.

Riding on Sunday

Request the bike for delivery on Saturday; it arrives at the per-item rate and you send it back with "send more items" on Monday. Or keep the bike home in the dry season and store it in the wet season, June to November, when the balcony is at its worst.

Frequently asked

Do you store motorbikes?

No. Motorbikes contain fuel and are refused for everyone's safety.

Can I store the e-bike battery too?

No. Loose lithium batteries are refused. The battery stays with you; the bike is stored without it.

Will the crew take the wheel off?

Yes, with a quick release. Bolt-through axles you loosen yourself or leave the wheel on; the crew wraps the bike as it is.

Is one bike worth a whole plan?

The Small plan is the minimum at 1,158,000 VND a month. One bike alone is not the best use of it; a bike plus the seasonal boxes from the wardrobe is.
