Storage for expats in Ho Chi Minh City

You are here for two years, or six months, or until the contract ends. Your apartment came furnished, your winter coat is pointless, and the things you shipped from home do not all fit. Storage for expats has to work in English, without a visit, and without a long contract. This is how ours does.

Why valet rather than a unit

You could rent a unit and drive boxes there on a motorbike. Nobody does, twice. Valet means a crew comes with boxes and wrap, packs with you, photographs each item, and the catalogue appears in your account that evening. When you want the ski jacket or the second suitcase, you tap it and it arrives the next day. When you leave, you choose "return everything and close" and the crew delivers to the new address, or you release items to a shipper or a buyer.

Self storage is available if you want a private unit with your own padlock and 24/7 access, from 1,458,000 VND a month with one month's rent as deposit. The first trip is still a crew collection in both models; after that, self storage customers come and go as they please.

Air-conditioned or standard

Ho Chi Minh City sits at 75 to 80 percent humidity most of the year and above 90 percent on wet days. Leather, wool, books, photographs, wooden furniture and electronics go in air-conditioned storage at 23 to 25°C. Plastic, metal, laminate and the bicycle are fine in standard. The difference on a Small plan is 1,452,000 VND against 1,158,000 VND a month; most expat plans are air-conditioned because the things worth storing are the things that mould.

Leaving the country

Book collection two days ahead from the account; a rush collection is possible for a flat fee.
Sort into three piles during packing: store, ship, give away. The crew only takes the first.
Check the catalogue that night while you still remember what is in "box 7".
Add a trusted person as an authorised receiver in case you need something released while abroad.
When you know your plans, request a full return to a new address, single deliveries to a shipper, or disposal. Disposal is confirmed with you first.

Paperwork

A passport is enough to open an account. Invoices carry VAT and can be issued to a company if your employer covers relocation. Storage runs month to month for as long as you need it; a departure date is not required.

For HR and relocation teams

We work with companies moving staff in and out of Vietnam and have experience with large corporate customers: company-billed accounts with several employees, a role for the HR contact and a role for the employee, VAT invoices to the company, a CSV ledger for the relocation file. Recurring relocations are quoted from the published list.

Frequently asked

Do I have to be there when the crew comes?

Someone you trust has to be, to sign off the photographed catalogue. It can be a partner, a colleague or the building manager if you authorise them in the account.

Can I manage everything from abroad?

Yes. Deliveries, disposal, returns and invoices all work from the account, with payment by bank transfer, and support messages are answered in business hours.

What happens when my term ends and I have not replied?

Storage is paid for the whole term before the crew collects, so nothing is owed during it. When it ends the account reminds you to book another term or ask for everything back; nothing is disposed of without confirmation with you. Contact us early if you are stuck abroad.

Can you ship my things abroad?

We do not ship internationally, but we deliver to any freight forwarder or packer in the city, or release the items to them at the facility with your authorisation.

Is there a minimum period?

One month, then it renews monthly for as long as you stay.
