Luggage storage in Ho Chi Minh City

Most people searching for luggage storage want somewhere to leave two bags between checkout and a night flight. We are not that, and this page says so in the first paragraph so you do not waste an afternoon. What we are is the answer to the other question: the suitcases you do not want to drag around Vietnam, Cambodia and back for the next six weeks.

The short answer

For hours or a day: ask your hotel to hold the bags, which almost all do, or use a day-locker service near District 1. We do not do same-day storage.
For a week or more: we collect from your hotel, hostel or apartment, photograph and code each bag, keep it on a racked shelf, and deliver it back to any address in the city, the next day at the earliest, 2 days ahead for the standard fee.
Price: a Small plan, 1,250,000 VND a month, holds about six large suitcases; collection from 3,300,000 VND one way, 5,100,000 VND collection and return.
No trip fee for a collection in Districts 1 to 5, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan and Go Vap; 150,000 VND on the collection elsewhere, including Tân Bình where the airport is.

For hours: not us

If you have checked out at noon and fly at midnight, the answer is your hotel. Nearly every hotel and hostel in the city holds checked-out guests' bags for the day free of charge, and most will hold them for a few days for a returning guest. There are also day-locker services around District 1 and near the bus stations that charge by the bag and the hour. Our earliest delivery is the next day and our plans are monthly, so for a day we are the wrong tool; we would rather say so than take the booking.

For a week to a year: this is what we do

The case for storing luggage properly starts at about a week. A month in Vietnam usually means a base in Saigon, a loop north or west, and a return through the city to fly out. The winter clothes from home, the second suitcase, the dive gear, the gifts bought early, the laptop bag you do not need on a motorbike trip: all of that sits with us while you travel light. The crew collects from wherever you are staying at a slot you choose, photographs each bag and its contents if you want them listed, and racks it in a facility with CCTV, code and fingerprint entry and pest control. When you are back, you request delivery from the portal to the hotel you are in that week, and it arrives the next day at the earliest, or the day you choose after that.

A month with three suitcases and a bag of dive gear, collected from a District 1 hotel and returned to a District 3 apartment, is one Small plan for a month plus the two-way collection: 1,250,000 VND plus 5,100,000 VND. Compare it with hauling the same bags on three domestic flights with baggage fees, or paying a hotel to hold them for six weeks, and it is usually close to even on money and far ahead on not having to think about it.

Which section for luggage

Clothes, shoes and bags are organic and Ho Chi Minh City is humid, so a suitcase stored for more than a few weeks belongs in the air-conditioned section at 23 to 25°C, particularly if it contains leather, wool or electronics. Hard-shell cases of hard goods, camping equipment and sports gear are fine in standard. Both sections exist in every facility and a plan can be split.

Before the crew comes

Take out what you will want on the road: chargers, documents, medicines, the thing you always forget. Retrieving a single item later is possible but costs a delivery.
Keep passports, cash, cards and anything above the protection cap with you; they should not be in a stored bag.
Nothing perishable, nothing alive, no fuel, gas, aerosols or loose batteries. Camping stoves go in empty; power banks stay with you.
Everything dry. A wet rain jacket rolled into a suitcase is how a whole bag comes back smelling of the rainy season.
Tell us the hotel's rules: some want the bags brought to the lobby by you, some let the crew come up. Give the reception a heads-up on the day.

Longer than a trip

The same service covers the people who are not travelling but leaving: a semester abroad, a contract up country, a return home with a plan to come back. Frequently asked

Can I drop bags at your facility for a few hours?

No. We collect and deliver rather than take walk-ins, and the earliest delivery is the next day. For a day, ask your hotel or use a day-locker service.

Do you collect from hotels and hostels?

Yes, from any address in the city. Tell us the hotel's policy on crews coming up, and let reception know the slot.

Can you deliver to the airport?

We deliver to addresses, not to a terminal. Delivery to a hotel or apartment in Tân Bình near the airport is normal, and a delivery from the dashboard carries no district fee; the 150,000 VND trip fee applies to a collection from outside the free zone.

How fast can I get a bag back?

The next day at the earliest. Request 2 days ahead for the standard fee; sooner adds the 400,000 VND rush fee.

Is there a minimum?

Plans are monthly; the Small plan at 1,250,000 VND is the smallest, and it holds several suitcases.
