Closed for now, not for good
A pause is not a closure. The cost behaves the same way though: the lease charges you every day whether or not anyone walks in. Giving up the premises and keeping the equipment is how a lot of shops, gyms, salons and small offices get through a flat stretch without selling everything cheaply and buying it all back later.

The short answer
- Give up the premises, keep the fit-out. Storage almost always costs less than rent for the same period.
- From 1,250,000 VND a month, billed monthly and renewing until you stop it.
- Collection from 3,300,000 VND, including the van, the crew, boxes and wrapping.
- Every item photographed and coded, so when you reopen you know exactly what you still have.
- Need one item back mid-way? It comes on its own; nothing else is disturbed.
Who stores through a pause
| Business | Usually stores | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Retail shop | Shelving, mannequins, counter, remaining stock | Count stock in by code and set par levels, so reopening starts with a list of what to reorder |
| Gym or yoga studio | Weights, dismantled rigs, mirrors, mats | Heavy items go on low shelves; note the weights when booking so enough crew comes |
| Salon or spa | Chairs, dismantled basins, trolleys, small equipment | Electrical equipment belongs in air-conditioning; opened chemicals and products cannot be taken |
| Small office | Desks, chairs, filing cabinets, printers, paper records | Paper records go into air-conditioning, boxed and coded by department |
| Showroom or stand | Panels, lighting, display samples, signage | Wrap anything made to your design separately; it is the hardest part to replace |
The comparison, simply
Put one month of rent next to one month of storage. Standard storage is 1,250,000 VND for Small, 2,450,000 VND for Medium, 4,900,000 VND for Large. For a three-month pause the comparison is three months of rent and utilities against three months of storage plus one collection and one delivery. For most premises in this city the gap is wide enough that the arithmetic does not need to be careful.
Storing in a way that makes reopening easier
- Photograph the layout before anything comes apart. You will want it when you build it back, and nobody remembers after three months.
- Star the items you will need first, so the first delivery arrives in the order you want to install.
- For stock, set par levels as it is counted in. Reopening then starts with a reorder list rather than a stocktake.
- Do not store things that expire during the pause: short-dated stock, records due for disposal, anything whose warranty ends.
- Book the delivery two days ahead. Central districts carry no trip fee; other districts add 150,000 VND.
If the pause runs longer than planned
That is common, and it is fine. At the end of a term you book another; longer terms carry a lower monthly rate. And if you eventually decide not to reopen, everything is still sitting in a photographed catalogue, which means you can sell piece by piece to the right buyer instead of the whole lot to the lowest one.

Frequently asked
I do not know how long the pause will be. Which term?
The first month is billed on its own and it renews from there. Stop whenever you like, with notice enough to schedule the delivery.
Can I take a few items out to sell while it is stored?
Request them individually in your account at 100,000 VND each, delivered the next day at the earliest.
Can stock be counted and tracked?
Yes. Each code is counted in, can carry a par level with a low-stock alert, and exports to CSV.
Is there a deposit?
Valet storage takes no deposit. Self storage takes one month.
